Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the KartGrip mobile app ("KartGrip," "the App"). KartGrip is a mobile application for dirt oval kart setup and analysis.

KartGrip contains no analytics, tracking, or advertising software of any kind. There are no accounts, no logins, and we never ask for your name, email address, or phone number. Your setups are stored on your device.

What Data Stays on Your Device

The following is stored only on your device and is never sent to us or to any third party unless you explicitly choose to share it:

This data is removed when you delete the App.

Data Sent to Third Parties

The features described below send data off your device. Nothing else does.

Crew Chief (AI Assistant) — Pro feature

When you send a Crew Chief message, the following is sent through our Cloudflare Worker at api.dirtbite.com to an AI provider (xAI's Grok, with Google's Gemini as a fallback):

The Cloudflare Worker is a request proxy we operate. It forwards the request and returns the response. It does not store the content of your messages or the responses.

AI provider data handling is governed by their own policies:

All AI requests go through our Cloudflare Worker; the App holds no provider API keys and never contacts AI providers directly.

Setup Sheet Scan Import — Pro feature

When you import a setup by photographing a setup sheet, the photo is sent through the same Cloudflare Worker to Google's Gemini model, which reads the values off the sheet. We do not retain the photo. Google's retention is governed by the Google privacy policy linked above.

In-App Purchases — RevenueCat

KartGrip uses RevenueCat to manage subscription and consumable purchases on iOS and Android. When you purchase or restore, RevenueCat receives:

This is required to grant Pro access, validate receipts with Apple or Google, and process restores.

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or payment card details. Apple or Google processes your payment directly; neither RevenueCat nor KartGrip ever sees your card information.

RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy

App Store and Google Play

Apple's App Store and Google Play handle the purchase transaction itself and may retain transaction records for tax, accounting and legal reasons, under their own privacy policies.

Install Identifier

On first launch KartGrip generates a random identifier (a UUID) and stores it on your device. It is sent to the Cloudflare Worker as the X-Install-Id header and is used only to apply rate limits and prevent abuse.

To enforce those limits, the Worker keeps a count of requests associated with that identifier — for example, how many setup sheet scans have been used in the current calendar month. These counters reset monthly. They record only how many requests were made, never what was in them.

The identifier is not linked to your name, email, payment information or any other identifying detail, because the App does not collect any such information. Deleting and reinstalling the App generates a new identifier.

Sharing Setups

Share links. When you share a setup using a link, that setup is uploaded to our server and stored so the person you send it to can open it. The link contains a random identifier that is not guessable, but it is not a password: anyone who has the link can view that setup, including anyone it is forwarded to. Shared setups are deleted automatically about 90 days after they are created. Only the setup data you chose to share is uploaded — no account details, and no other setups.

Files and PDFs. You can also export a setup as a .kartgrip file or a PDF and send it through your device's own sharing options, such as AirDrop, messages or email. Those files are not routed through our servers. The privacy practices of whichever app or service you share through are governed by that service's own policy.

To have a shared setup removed before it expires, email us with the link and we will delete it.

Data Deletion Requests

KartGrip has no accounts and stores your setups only on your device. To remove data:

Apple and Google keep their own records of purchases for tax and legal reasons; deleting those is governed by their policies.

Children's Privacy

KartGrip is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Security

All data sent to the Cloudflare Worker, AI providers, RevenueCat, Apple and Google is transmitted over HTTPS / TLS.

Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. If a future version of KartGrip adds a feature that involves new data collection, this policy will be updated before that feature ships.
